Today I had brunch with friends at Mimi’s Cafe before some holiday shopping. We had Hibiscus cocktails, warm muffins, quiche, french onion soup, and a wonderful strawberry and walnut salad. We were stuffed, and when the bill came there was no guess work thanks to Serve from American Express.

We all signed up for accounts from home ahead of time, and received $10 in our account. It was quick, easy and secure. In just a few days I received a debit card in the mail to use. It was also easy to link my bank account and transfer money back and forth. My friends paid for our brunch on their credit cards, and I easily transfered funds into their Serve accounts to pay them back. I was even able to do this while we were still at the table from my Serve iPhone app, but that’s not the only way to use the service. You can also transfer and send funds from your computer too. So far I have used the service to send money, receive money, and even used my new debit card to make a purchase at Target and Bath & Body Works.

Purchases can also be made online with the debit card, and you can withdrawal funds from your account via ATM or move money back and forth to and from your bank account. You can also sign up for “subaccounts” that allow you to move money to a separate account (with its own debit card) to pay your kid’s allowance or instead of giving them cash for an outing. I can see it as a fantastic way to teach them how to save and budget too. I am definitely already a big fan of Serve, and have been telling everyone I know.

I know at one point in my childhood I definitely was saying I wanted to be a vet, so I know my little girl self would have absolutely loved this game. Heck, I still love animals and the idea of caring for 22 baby “petz” sounds like so much fun. My friend’s daughter played with me and she completely fell in love with the baby animals. Her favorite part was singing to them.

The animals look very life-like, and there are even four different breeds of baby penguins. They are one of my favorite animals. Last time I was at SeaWorld I got to have an up close and personal encounter with hundreds of them. Okay, so it was only through the glass into their habitat, but with Petz Nursery 2 at least I was able to get closer. Beginning August 30, every time Kroger customers in the area make a purchase with their Kroger Plus Card, they not only save money on their grocery bill but also earn Fuel Points that can be used at the pump. Kroger customers have the opportunity to redeem 100 points per visit to save 10 cents per gallon instantly at Kroger Fuel Centers and now at participating Shell stations. This offer is valid up to 35 gallons per fuel purchase.

Customers are able to earn one Fuel Point for every dollar spent on most items when they use their Kroger Plus Card during shopping trips at participating Kroger stores. To help shoppers build up their savings quickly, additional Fuel Points can be earned by purchasing prescriptions or gift cards at Kroger. Customers earn 50 Fuel Points for each filled eligible prescription and two Fuel Points for every dollar spent on third-party gift cards from Kroger’s in-store Gift Card Malls.

Naturally Gold’s Gym Dance Workout completely won me over simply by adding Good Vibrations to the song list. I mean honestly, is there a better booty shaking song? I dare you to name one so I can argue with you. That being said, it only makes sense that I am already a fan of this game. I’ve only played it a handful of times so far (It just came out on August 17), but I am definitely enjoying it. My favorite aspect of the Wii Fit is the step dancing, so I am excited to have another similar dancing activity that I know I already enjoy. Plus I’ve always wanted to learn how to Salsa.

You can customize a variety of workouts which incorporate Latin dance styles, as well as a selection of boxing-inspired dance routines and mini games. What else do I love? 1) It is compatible with the Wii Balance Board. 2) It supports two-player co-op mode, so even Dave can get his groove on with me. 3) It stores the number of calories burned, body mass index, as well as a complete exercise history so you can track your progress and goals. What don’t I like? It starts off a little fast, especially when you are trying to get the hang of it. 2) The Wiimote sometimes doesn’t register your moves even when you do them correctly, and counts them as a “miss” during your routine. 3) So far besides checking my weight, I haven’t been able to figure out how else to use the Balance Board for actual workout routines.

Overall it is a lot of fun, and you will be surprised just how much you sweat. Trust me, you will feel like you did a full cardio workout and then some when you are done. The chick in the video below says you won’t even realize how much you are sweating, but she’s totally lying, yo. You will, because if you are anything like me, it will be a lot. Feel it, feel it.

Thanks to Betty Crocker, I was able to try the Limited Edition Suddenly Salad Greek. I have to admit it was a lot easier to prepare than I thought it would be. I simply boiled some water to cook the pasta, and mixed the seasoning packet with the cooked pasta and a little bit of oil and cold water. It was quick and easy, and ready to eat.

You can get a little bit more creative with it too by adding extra ingredients to make it all your own. I added extra black olives to mine, and next time I plan to add tomatoes, cubed cheese and meat, and red onions for a delicious antipasto salad. Perfecto!
