Small Business Saturday – November 27

Dave and I have a few small businesses that we support within our community. For example, we never buy pizza from big chains anymore. Our favorite is a local family owned pizzeria called Durkin’s Pizza. I discovered it when I went to a gathering of local bloggers in Dallas and met the owner’s sister. When I was describing to her where I live, she told me that her brother owns a pizza place nearby. I had recalled seeing it, but we had never stopped in. |
A few weeks later Dave and I were in the area shopping, and I suggested we check it out. It’s quaint with a few rows of booths and small tables, and is decorated with framed rock ‘n roll posters. Usually they have sports showing on the two flat screen televisions. The pizza is absolutely amazing. There is always plenty of cheese (the best part in my opinion), and the crust is fresh and delicious. It is worlds better than any other pizza you can find locally. I love that the owner takes your order, delivers it to your table, and even cleans the tables afterward.
If you live in the Frisco and McKinney area, I highly recommend you check out Durkin’s Pizza and support one of the best small local businesses we have discovered. They are located at 8930 Hwy 121 #594 in McKinney off Custer Road. We plan to visit and support them this weekend while out shopping.
