Happy Thanksgiving 2009!

By Laurie | November 26, 2009

Today is the day where most of us stop in between bites of turkey, parades, and football to reflect on the things and the people that we are thankful for. It has been a difficult year for me, but I still have a lot to give thanks for. Here are just a few:

  • A fantastic husband who loves me and takes care of me (even when I’m not sick).
  • Wonderful parents and a supportive family.
  • The best (and cutest) puppy in the whole wide world.
  • Awesome friends who always have my back no matter what.
  • A decent job which includes a boss who isn’t crazy.
  • Health insurance and while I complain sometimes, doctors who fix me when I feel broken.
  • A nice house that isn’t always clean, but is filled with love.
  • I’m sure by the time this posts and you’re reading it, I am passed out on the sofa or maybe even in bed resting up for Black Friday. I do have to work tomorrow (which is why we didn’t travel this year), but there are a few stores that open at midnight or a little later. Crazy, huh? I have never minded the crowds, and usually find some pretty good deals for Christmas. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it is definitely one of my favorite days of the year.

I hope that you had a happy and safe Thanksgiving no matter where you are and who you spent it with.

Oh, and thanks to my friends at IZEA for the fun turkey hat. Gobble, Gobble! I got it earlier in the week and immediately posed for pictures to post today, along with a ToFurky and Gravy Jones Soda that has been put in the fridge. I am still afraid to drink it, but maybe tomorrow!

    1. Happy Thanksgiving! We all have things to be thankful for, and it’s nice to have a day to stop and reflect on them. Have fun shopping. I’ll be in bed then, and thankful to be there. :P

I’d be afraid to drink that soda, too – but I bet I could find some people in this house who would try it.

    4. Your puppy in the I Love Turkey t-shirt is so cute! I live in NZ, we don’t have Thanksgiving day here but I wish we did.
