In-N-Out IS coming to Texas

In-N-Out is coming to Texas. This is the moment I have been dreaming of FOREVER. Sort of. Actually I have dreamed of owning my own In-N-Out Dallas franchise since I was probably 20 (they don’t do franchises by the way), but since they are family run and owned and blah blah blah that will never ever happen. But heck, I will be happy to go and |
Yay! Yay! Yay! I am from California, and am known for being obsessive about In-N-Out. If I travel anywhere that has one, I have to go at least twice before heading home. This is seriously one of the most exciting pieces of news ever. You know that I love Oprah (and was glad to see her at the State Fair of Texas), but I am even more excited about this. Sorry, Oprah.
I can’t find information about this Dallas location anywhere on the Internet (trust me, I tried!) There has been speculation for years. Rumors seem to be circulating a lot more frequently these days though. It’s always been something people talk about; kind of like Disney building a theme park here (which has also been a rumor since I was in high school).
However, I have it on semi good authority this time that the In-N-Out Texas rumor is true. I met someone (I am not disclosing who or where) who knows the person who says he was hired to be the manager. From what I was told, it will be built in Plano, Texas (the next town over from me for those of you not in the area). I don’t know exactly where, but it sounds legit. And soon. The world is it will be off of HWY 75. (edit: the latest is that the possible first location will be where the Krispy Kreme recently vacated. I also recently heard that the distribution center is rumored to be built in Anna.)
I know it’s a case of someone who knows someone, but I am holding onto this. I think it’s true. Updates to come once ground breaks. I’m off to do a happy dance, mouth watering and all.
I know there are a lot of doubters out there, and In-N-Out folks will be denying it until the cows come home. Literally. I really think it’s going to be a reality by next year.

This rocks my face off. I am super excited about this!
Posted by: Craig GreshamYou know there is an In n Out in Livermore. Hint, hint!
Posted by: JillSo the real question is WHERE it will be coming in Texas… they could always put it in Amarillo next to the giant steak (which is free if you eat it in an hour) place… which wouldn’t be useful. A few locations in the D/FW area would be nice
Posted by: JasonJason - The first one will be in Plano from what I heard. I assume once there is one, more will appear… but I’m not sure.
Pinkberry just opened last week, and I know they have plans for three more in the area already.
Posted by: LaurieIN-N-OUT has no plans to add any states at this time. While Texas has been reviewed for possible expansion, there are no official plans to add the market yet. There are many issues keeping the expansion from happening at this time, from legal copyright issues, to distribution & food source issues. (We only get our meat from 1 place & we never freeze anything). So while Texas may happen someday, I am sorry to say that this is still just a unfounded rumor.
Posted by: @IN_N_OUT_BurgerMy boyfriend Works for the in-n-out Distribution center in Baldwin park, and since he’s training to be a supervisor for tx’s distribution center,we do know they are making one in Dallas Texas for sure. It should be done 2011 we’re moving out there for our Job.
Posted by: SaritaSarita- Thanks for coming by! My family is from Baldwin Park! I hope the training is going well. Come back and see what the In-N-Out folks on Twitter left in a comment. They are still saying that it’s not happening. Hopefully it will if you have plans to move out here!
