Once In a Blue Moon Review & Giveaway
By Laurie | October 21, 2009
I love a good book, and I have to admit I like my books a little scandalous. That’s just what I got with four time York Times bestseller Eileen Goudge’s newest novel, Once In a Blue Moon. I got the chance to read it before it’s release on October 6, thanks to the One2One Network. I also get to give a copy away to one of my readers, so see below to find out how to enter.

Since I am originally from California, I can picture the setting of Once In a Blue Moon, and although I can’t relate to the family dysfunction and drama, that is what kept me turning the pages. It is the story of two sisters who were separated at a young age, only to reunite in adulthood. It is truly interesting to see how two people who started out in the same place could have ended up having such different lives and experiences. While I am sure there are plenty of people with interesting life stories, this is far from real life (at least in my circle). My favorite character was Miss Honi Love, the former exotic dancer who loves the two girls like they were her own and tries unsuccessfully to keep them from foster care. She is more of a mother to them than their own. Does anyone have someone like her in their lives? It was a definite escape, a good travel read, and Kerrie Ann and Lindsay’s story was an entertaining one, but also at times sad. In the end they learn that although they are drastically different, being family is what makes them the same. You know, that whole blood is thicker than water bottom line. |

Posted by: AliciaThe best book I have read recently is Warlord by Jennifer Fallon, the 3rd of a trilogy. Am about half way through the book that she actually wrote first (Medalon) but that takes place after the action in the first group. It is not as good, but since it was her first book, that might explain it.
