Want to FeelGood this Fall?

By Laurie | September 8, 2009

Do you knit? I don’t, and I have always wanted to learn. I do occasionally cross-stitch though, but somehow I think knitting is a tad harder. If you are talented and have time, I just read about a program from Lands’ End called The FeelGood Campaign. For every purchase from their FeelGood line of products, they will donate their special extra soft yarn to Warming Families, a nationwide charity that knits clothing for the homeless. Pretty cool, huh? You can also help by knitting hats and sending them to a local volunteer group in your area. To make it easier, there are several free hat patterns designed by DIY Network’s Knitty Gritty host, Vickie Howell, that you can use to make your own creation.

Since I’m not a knitting pro, I plan to purchase this super comfy looking saddle/iris v-neck sweater from the FeelGood line. I love stripes, and it looks like it is going to perfect for the cold Texas winter.

There is also going to be a Twitter Party to celebrate. Here’s the Knitty Gritty:

Lands’ End FeelGood Twitter Party
Date: Wednesday, September 16th
Time: 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CST
Location: #landsend

ALSO: For every blogger that posts about the FeelGood Campaign through September 16, a cone of FeelGood yarn will be donated to volunteers at Warming Families. Each cone is enough yarn to make 28 hats that will be donated to homeless individuals across the country. I hope everyone will consider making a post to support them. I figured since I can’t do the knitting myself, this is the next best thing.
