Need a Quick Fix for dinner?
By Laurie | August 20, 2009
In the evening after a long day at work, the last thing I want to do is come home and cook a big dinner. I’m tired, and am in a hurry to fit my workout in. I am all about fast and easy. Sometimes I will make several portions of something on the weekend, just so that it can easily be heated up the rest of the week. In the past we have been tempted to pick up fast-food on the way home, or even prepare unhealthy processed meals and snacks at home.
Dave has been working out at the gym, and I have been coming right home to my Wii Fit and EASports Active. Lately it has been easy for us (i.e. lazy) to just swing through Subway on the way home and grab a sandwich to share for dinner. Still, it would be nice to have a little more variety.

Fix Quix just might be another great option. What is it you ask? It is a refrigerated cubed meat product that can be used to make a great meal, as well as a healthy protein snack. I think it would actually be great to throw on top of a bed of lettuce for a satisfying salad. I have really gotten into creating new salad combinations lately, so this sounds perfect. It comes in three flavors: Grilled Chicken, Oven-Roasted Turkey, and Smoked Ham. They are offering a $1.00 online coupon (good in Texas, Arizona and St. Louis). |
More good news? The product is low in calories and fat, is an excellent source of protein, is gluten free, and is certified by the American Heart Association. I haven’t had a chance to try Fix Quix out, so I can’t give it a thumbs up yet. I did print out the coupon though, and do plan on giving it a go next week.
