Brownie’s Day Out

Brownie’s Birthday is coming up in only a few short days. I almost cannot believe he’s going to be SIX! We took him on a little trip to PETSMART to get his nails groomed. Usually they allow me to hold him in the lobby while they use the little electric file. That keeps him calm and feeling safe. Today, even though I suggested I hold him… she took him back to a table and hooked him on with a lanyard. He taught her a lesson by pooping on her while she walked over to said table. No, I’m not kidding. I snapped a shot of him with my phone. She wasn’t able to get too much done as he was very frightened and squirmy, and ultimately I ended up going back and holding him for her.
Afterward we took him out to the store in search of some birthday treats. I had to stop and have him try on some Doggles because they are so darn cute. Surprisingly he didn’t even make a fuss and actually posed for a few pictures!
In the end we decided that they are not too practical, although it was fun to try them on him and see what his reaction was. I wonder how well he could really see with them on? I love the photos of the chihuahuas wearing them on the PETCO site.
Instead we walked out with a few kinds of treats (most kinds of treats were 20% off) and a special dinner for him to have on his birthday. Now that we’re home he’s snoozing on the sofa, clearly exhausted from his big day!

Happy birthday Brownie! I’m guessing the Doggles are to protect their eyes from the sun? Cute but your probably right, not practical.
