Music Monday – Know Your Enemy

By Laurie | June 8, 2009

Green Day is getting old… in more ways than one. Clearly they know it, because they sure don’t let the camera focus on their faces very long before moving on to the next object in their new video. Check it out for yourself below. I used to be a big fan before their last album was played ad nauseam on the radio. Plus I didn’t appreciate the political head beating. I haven’t bought their newest one yet, but don’t even try to get it at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart banned Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown when it came out. Apparently they asked them to provide a clean version, but Billie Joe and the boys said thanks, but no thanks. So far this is the only song I have heard from it, and I am pretty sure this one is going to get old pretty quick. I think it has approximately ten words that are continuously repeated for 3+ minutes. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but not by much. I also heard that they take a stab at Christianity on the new album too. Awesome. Sounds like they are just looking for controversy.

  2. American Idiot wasn’t at Walmart either, nobody noticed 5 years ago I guess.

And the new album flattens that one, I love it.
