Would you watch a 4 minute commercial?

I mentioned yesterday (really almost today) that I have been looking forward to the MAC Hello Kitty line of cosmetics, but alas no job equals not buying fun and pretty things. Instead all my savings and whatnot must be carefully spent on things like, well mortgage.
Garrett posted a link to a new Hello Kitty MAC ad in my comments, and I must say that I actually watched all 4 minutes and 9 seconds of it. I had a headache before, but now I really do. It is very interesting to see a live action version of the models I have seen in the print ads, and also now the naked Hello Kitty men from last night make sense (well, sort of).

Also, this morning I got the dreaded thanks-but-no-thanks e-mail from the company I have been interviewing with for the past two weeks. In hindsight I always wonder what I did wrong, and how I could have done things differently. Maybe they had another candidate that was just much more qualified? I must admit I wasn’t excited about the location and a few other aspects, but I am less excited about the rejection. As my favorite cartoon movie critic, Jay Sherman, would say: It stinks!
On the plus side I am going to really try to remain positive. Even though I want to cry and pull the blankets over my head and pout, I won’t. At least not right now. I did get an e-mail from another company saying that they are interested and are setting up interviews this week. I really think this last one just wasn’t meant to be, and there are quite a few others pending that I would enjoy much more.
So that’s where I’m at today. I hope everyone had a good weekend, and that you enjoy your week. I’m going to hide under my covers until later this afternoon. Hey, at least there won’t be any much crying or pouting.

Ok, I think I’m glad I took the pics first and then saw this, because I may have felt even more disturbed getting a pic with them.

Posted by: DorseyWow! I’m feeling like I’m on an acid flashback watching that video. I didn’t make it through the whole thing. I wish I could say it was the weirdest video I’ve ever seen, but alas, that would be a lie. The internet is so very strange sometimes.

Posted by: StaceyHave you ever contacted the company back and asked how you could have improved the interview process or your resume? Whenever I’m rejected, I always contact them back and ask. Sometimes they say there was just a better-qualified candidate, but more than once I’ve been given some handy advice that’s helped me improve. It’s a difficult question to ask and can be a difficult answer to take, but if you’re really interested, it might be worth a shot =)
