Don’t you just love free stuff? I know I do. I think that companies are being a lot more generous these days now the economy is suffering and Americans seem to be spending their money a little more wisely. Fat Tuesday has taken on a whole new meaning today. See what kind of free (foodie related) goodies you can get below.

I already mentioned last week that Jack in the Box is giving away two free tacos today, so I’ll be heading over there for lunch. It’s not necessarily close, but I’d like to show them my support for what they are doing. For you Weight Watchers out there, they are only about 3 points each. |
| Today is also National Pancake Day at IHOP. You can get a free short stack (three) of their famous buttermilk pancakes between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM. They are accepting donations for the Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities with the goal of raising $1,000,000 during the 2009 promotion. I am not really a breakfast or pancake gal, but I think what they are doing is really awesome. Will it be as popular as Denny’s free Grand Slam promotion earlier this month? |  |

There are a few more free promotions I have run across in the past few days. Thanks to @bellsouth‘s tweet on Twitter yesterday, I learned that Quizno’s is giving away a million coupons for a free sub just for registering your e-mail address on their site. Like Subway, they have jumped on the $5 sandwich bandwagon. Which is your favorite? I usually order their Classic Italian. |
| Beth and Cory’s Mom mentioned you can get a free Kashi entree for signing up on their website. They had a free cookie promotion awhile back, and interestingly enough I got an e-mail saying that those Kashi TLC cookies were recalled earlier this week! Needless to say, that cookie is long gone. I don’t remember getting sick from it, so it’s all good. I love their blueberry waffles. |  |

It’s a long way off, but Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day is Tuesday, April 21st, 2009. The promotion will start at noon through 8:00 PM. I believe they did a free scoop for election day too, but they always have a free cone day around the end of April. I am not a big ice cream fan in general, but I cannot resist a free treat. D and I went over last year, and the line was out the door and all the way down the shopping center’s sidewalk. We bailed. I don’t think standing in line for two hours to get a free ice cream cone is worth it, but if you hit it at the right time when a lot of people are not there it could be fun. My favorite ice cream is vanilla, but I also like cherry and strawberry.

| My friend Katrina sent over a Friday’s Buy One Get One coupon via e-mail. I haven’t had a chance to go yet, but you can take advantage if you head over by March 1. They have a new menu with meals created by Food Network stars from the Ultimate Recipe Showdown. I went with D and his co-workers several weeks ago (before the coupon), and a few people ordered the mac & cheese special and said that it was really good. |  |
