Valentine’s Day Swap

My friend Jeannie from Musings From Left Field e-mailed me while I was in California informing me of a Valentine’s exchange that she had signed up for. She knows I love a good swap, so last week I headed over to An Island Life and joined too.

These are always a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to shopping for my partner. You can sign up through Saturday, January 31 if you want to join us. The limit is between $8-$10 before shipping. I neglected to post my questionnaire, but here it finally is:

What is your idea of a romantic Valentine’s Day?
Just a quiet dinner out somewhere, nothing extravagant.

In reality, what is your Valentine’s Day really like?
Actually, usually the same as above. We’ve did dinner at Simply Fondue a couple years in a row which was fun, and last year we went to a little hole in the wall Italian place near our house.

If you could have a lifetime supply of your favorite sweet indulgence, what would it be?
Sadly after I had my tonsils taken out a month ago, I have no taste for sweets. Something about the process messed with my taste buds and chocolate, sweets and soda do not taste right anymore. That is not entirely a bad thing. I do like caramel corn (Garrett’s… YUM), but I haven’t had any post surgery. I also have a Starbucks peppermint white chocolate mocha addiction, and luckily they still taste fantastic!

Is there any sweet treat you absolutely do not like?
I don’t know how many more sweet related questions I can answer! I’m getting hungry!

If you fell into a pool of chocolate, how would you get out?
I’d eat my way out. Is there any other answer? God willing, it won’t ever happen.

  6. Tina- I haven’t asked the doctor actually. It is getting better, so I think they will eventually be back to normal. Several other people told me that they also experienced that side effect. I guess you were just lucky if you didn’t!

  11. Awesome this will help! You have to tell me where this hole in the wall Italian place is, because we have been looking for one. We’re not big on the chain type Italian restaurants.

  13. Jean, it is on Preston near Main Street. Not only is it fantastic, but also very inexpensive. They have $5.99 lunch specials that include your main dish, bread, a salad (with the best ranch dressing EVER) and a drink. They also have BYOB. If you go, let me know what you guys thought.
