What’s up with Mother Nature?

By Laurie | December 9, 2008

Last night tornadoes hit our area, and tonight there is talk of snow. It is 30 degrees in Frisco! Brrrrr. I was just admiring the first pictures of snow Drew posted, and commented that we hardly ever get snow here. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a little before Christmas?

Speaking of Christmas, D and I finally put our tree up tonight. We’re not completely done though. Last year we did a silver theme, but this year we are going to go shopping for some pretty red ornaments to add a little color. Believe it or not, ornaments are kind of expensive. It cost over $100 to trim the tree from scratch last year. When we moved, we donated all of our old stuff so that we would not have to move it. I really regret that. But anyway, we’ll probably the tree fully decorated by this weekend when we finish up the rest of our shopping.

I also put out some of our other decorations, and things are starting to get a little bit more festive. We were also invited to go to a holiday gathering at one of our neighbors houses this weekend, so I’m sure we’ll be even more in the spirit after that. Anyone else have any fun pre-holiday plans?

  4. I live in the Dallas area also and our weather is always so unpredictable, isn’t it. They now say we will have warm weather this weekend. It sure was cold today and as I write this my hands are cold. I’m like you…I would love to see a nice snowfall before Christmas.

  5. I’ve got my tree up, but no lights or ornaments yet. It takes me several days. I take it step by step. Can you tell I don’t like to decorate the Christmas tree?

  6. I agree, this weather is crazy! It’s supposed to be in the 70′s by Sunday!
I’m always shocked at how expensive ornaments are. I collect the Barbie Celebration ornaments from Hallmark, it’s the one ornament I buy each year and it’s so overpriced! But, hey, it’s my splurge on myself I guess.
