Shopping Saturday

By Laurie | November 15, 2008

I cannot tell you how glad I am that it is the weekend. As much fun as the 3-Day was, it is nice that it is over so that I can use my free time for other things besides training and fundraising. I went first thing this afternoon to my new nail salon for a mani and pedi. Then afterward I hit the mall. Nobody told me that the holiday shopping season is in full swing. I just got home and it was as crowded as you’d see it the day after Thanksgiving. Christmas decorations are everywhere, and even Santa is already posing with the local youngsters. That reminded me that I’d like Dave, Brownie and I to take a new family picture before we send our Christmas cards out.

Yesterday I spent part of the day shopping online at Old Navy. They are having a 30% off Friends and Family promotion, and naturally I feel like I have nothing to wear. I really need to weed through my clothes and get rid of some stuff. I haven’t done that since we moved. I got some kick ass deals, plus free shipping, plus 30% off. I also had some reward certificates that I used, so I got almost $300 worth of stuff for less than $150. My loot includes about six new winter sweaters in fun colors, two pairs of jeans, PJs, a Pea Coat, sports bra, flip flops, several silk tops and matching cardigans and some kitten toe heels, Not bad, and I even included a pair of pink Crocs that I got for $10 thanks to finally getting my Piperlime issue resolved. They are good for gardening, grocery shopping, and going to the mall. So comfortable! I also hit New York and Co. yesterday after work and got some new sweaters and tops, one that I’ll be wearing to Nikki b-day party tonight.

I also got a coupon yesterday for a free tote bag from GAP that will earn me 10% on Fridays until the end of January. I was afraid they’d be out, but they acted like I was the first customer who had come in for it. I was a coupon shopping fool today. I got some more free stuff from Bath & Body Works, and a few pairs of those AWESOME soft socks they have. Then I hit Hallmark for wrapping paper and other Christmas goodies before going over to SEPHORA for some new holiday makeup.

Now I’m worn out and have been relaxing with the boys before I have to get ready to go out to Watters Creek in Allen tonight. We are trying a new New York based Coal Brick-Oven pizza joint called Grimaldi’s for Nikki’s birthday, then afterward we are hitting Crú for a few glasses of wine. I’ll post pics later, including more 3-Day ones when I upload them off my camera.

  2. You can’t go wrong with a day of shopping, and I can’t even tell you how long it has been since I have done one by myself!

Let me know if you need the 30% off coupon and I’ll forward it over!
