Perfect 10?

By Laurie | April 20, 2008

On Friday Krista, Helen and I enjoyed Spa Week at The Spa at the Crescent at Hotel Crescent Court. We each had the 50 Min Radiance Spa Facial with Mineral Makeup Application and 50 Min Signature Recovery Pedicure with Hydrating Paraffin Foot Mask. Last year Helen and I went to the Red Door Spa for facials and pedicures, and I have to say that I wish that’s what we did again this year.

The point is to find and try new spas that you can go to throughout the next year, but this one was pretty disappointing even though it was at a really nice hotel. The hotel is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. However, we were ushered around like cattle and I didn’t really feel relaxed. They seemed over booked, or like they really weren’t into taking care of clients trying to enjoy Spa Week. I wouldn’t go back. The facial was a complete waste of money. The one at Red Door was awesome last year. I would have much rather gone back there, and I actually have been back several times since last year.

The pedicures were nice though. My girl told me that my feet are a Perfect 10, and that they are among the softest, prettiest, most perfect feet she’s worked with. That was nice, and she was actually asking me for advice on how to get rid of her calluses. I told her, and thought I’d share my secrets on my blog too. First, here’s the after shot of my pedicure:

Laurie’s Secrets to great Feet

1. Heel of Approval: This is the absolute best stuff I have found for feet, and the great part is that it’s only $15. I was carrying a coupon for a free B&B spa product in my wallet and gave it to her. I promise… if you use this stuff after every shower, you will have soft feet before you know it. It’s not too greasy either, and I like the fragrance. Right now they’re 2 for $20– stock up! (I actually adore the entire line of spa products).
2. Origins Pumice Stone: I live and breathe for the Origins pumice stone. These are absolutely at the top of my list of beauty must-haves. I have raved about them before on my blogs, but seriously– best pumice ever! You will forget what dry, cracked feet are after you try this for a week. You have to work at it, but it’s worth it. Follow immediately with #1. They are about $7, but last a long time. I always buy a couple because they don’t always have them.

3. Lush Baths: One of the best things I do for myself each week is make time for a nice relaxing bath. I usually do this on Sunday afternoon or evening. I stock up on bath bombs (my favorite is Blackberry) and break them in half and have great smelling water that leaves my skin soft. While I soak, I listen to music, lay on my bath pillow, read a magazine, and just enjoy myself. I also use this time once a week to use my pumice, shave my legs and use lotion. This is my ME time.
4. Get a Pedicure! I’m not saying you have to go to the spa every week. I only go once a month and take care of my feet the rest of the month by myself at home. Heck, if you have a tub– you can do your own pedicure. You can even buy the same type of foot spas professionals use. It doesn’t have to be expensive. You don’t even have to use polish if you don’t want to. Just get a file, some good lotion, and go at it. I like to do mine while watching a chick flick. I also recommend getting a paraffin wax treatment once every six months for extra smooth feet.

That’s it in a nutshell. It’s not hard, doesn’t take a lot of time, and doesn’t have to be expensive to have great looking feet. The summer is coming up, and it’s already sandal and flip flop season. It should only take a month to have your feet looking their best.
