More Crazy Weather

By Laurie | March 7, 2008

The crazy Texas weather struck again on Thursday afternoon. We were hit with tons of sleet, and in Frisco tons of snow (at least for us). Angela let us leave early at 2:00 PM, and I worked the rest of the afternoon/evening at home. It took me over an hour to get to the house from work– traffic was insane, and the ice and snow had collected on the roads. I have discovered I have no patience for traffic anymore which is not good since I do not live close to my job anymore.

Everyday on the road is stressful and I am constantly worried about being late. I miss living in Lewisville because there was never really a problem. I’ll make it through somehow though.

When I finally did get home, the driveway was full of snow and ice too. Dave made this heart for me, but it was completely covered in fresh snow and ice before I got there. I thought the picture was just too cute not to share. I love my hubby. We had to shovel snow out of the way because my car refused to make it into the garage. I probably shouldn’t have opted for the peep-toe sandals that morning, huh? That might explain the sore throat I have today.

Today I woke up and the driveway and road were still covered. I called to say I’d leave home at 10:00 AM, and to my surprise Angela said to just stay and work from home. No arguing from me on that front. I love spending time here with Brownie, and using my own toilet. Plus the snacks are free and I love the peace and quiet. I stayed in my PJs all day long! This is the life. I think I work harder too– and definitely more hours.

Happy Friday, everyone!

  3. Corrin, sadly there was like an inch or two. haha. There is a little ledge, and my tires WOULD NOT go over it with all the snow covering it.

I think life itself would end (for Texans) if we ever saw 8 inches!
