Cory Case

Cory lost his battle with sarcoma yesterday. He was 31-years old.

I’ve been sitting here all day trying to think of what I want to say. My eyes are sore from crying, and I’m trying to hold it together at work. David and I met Cory over five years ago when our best friend Krista began dating him. We loved him immediately. He was an awesome person– funny, smart and kind. He and I shared a love for bad reality TV, and back in 2003… the Real World Paris. He would recite the horrible Adam raps to perfection. Everytime we saw him that year, I’d ask him to break down the newest one for me. In the past few years we’d talk about Laguna Beach and The Hills. He told me at my birthday gathering (only a month ago) that he was on “Team Montag,” and wanted to know which side I was on.

I did not expept this to happen so soon, but I am glad that he is no longer in pain. I am sad for his family and friends. I cannot imagine what life has been like, constantly in and out of the hospital. The entire time he had the most positive outlook. I never heard him complain. I know myself, and I could never be that strong. I was always in awe of his courage and strength (and Krista’s too- she’s “the strongest person we know”). I hope he knew how much I thought of him, prayed for him, was rooting for him… and how much we loved him. I thought there would be more time for me to tell him. He will be missed.

  • Viewing/Memorial Service/Wake will be held at Williams Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 pm. www.williamsfuneral.com
  • Funeral will be held Sunday at 3pm at St. Phillips, burial to follow at College Mound Methodist.
