Weighloss Wednesday
By Laurie | February 13, 2008

Now that I have been sticking to a diet and exercise plan for nearly two months, I have decided to jump back into Weightloss Wednesday (I used to participate on my LiveJournal). This time, I’m not as concerned about scale numbers (although a loss is always good). I have PCOS and thyroid disease, both of which make it extremely difficult to see good, or even consistent results. Instead, I am dedicating myself to getting into a more healthy routine. So far so good. I have been eating breakfast which is a big feat for me, given that I hate almost all the “traditional” food most people have (i.e. eggs, cereal, etc).Nikki and I have been working out four times a week at the gym, two of those days with a personal trainer. I feel like I have more energy and strength, and I think we are both really enjoying it dispite the fact that it feels like we live at the gym. So far I have only lost 5 pounds, but honestly it’s not really noticable. It’s something though, and I plan on continuing to work really hard at it.
I’m making better food choices too. I bring both my breakfast and lunch to work, and 75% of the time I have a good dinner too. Last night I caved and swung through McDonald’s for a Happy Meal on the way home from the gym. Our trainer says we can have one “cheat day” during the week, but still I felt guilty about it. I also felt really sick when I went to bed.
I think I will be in awesome shape in time for the Breast Cancer 3-Day in November though. Nikki said that she’s going to join with me, and I cannot tell you how excited I am that we are doing this together. It is going to be a wonderful experience. I think we are going to see a lot of results when we get serious about the training. There are still many months before the event, but I want to get started as soon as we can.
I hope everyone has a good week!
