Grandma Greta

By Laurie | February 10, 2008

David lost his grandmother this week. There is no funeral, so it does not seem real somehow. We have been talking about making a trip to Florida to visit her since his grandfather died, but never made it. I feel sad about that. I met them after our honeymoon in Florida. They were such a sweet couple. We have exchanged letters for quite a few years too. I lost my own grandmother when I was 16, and it was nice to borrow Dave’s for awhile. I would have loved it if they had lived closer. Here is a picture of us when we visited in 2004:

BROSIUS, Greta D. 95, of Clearwater, passed away Feb. 4, 2008, at Comprehensive Healthcare of Clearwater. She was born in Bonesteel, SD, and was a longtime resident of Belleair Country Estates MHP, Clearwater. She is predeceased by her husband, Doyle. She is survived by her son, Duane (Layne) Brosius, of LaPorte, TX; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Inurnment will take place at Bay Pine National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the MHP Memorial Fund in her name. Moss Feaster Funeral Home Belcher Road Chapel Clearwater, FL

David’s dad sent us that and noted that it was published in the St. Petersburg Times on 2/7/2008.

  1. That is very sad news. We always think we have more time to do things than we do. I’m very sorry to hear of the loss of his Grandmother.
