My Knee
By Laurie | January 25, 2008
| I never would have dreamed I would need knee replacement by the time I was 30. I don’t know what happened to me, but it seems like I have no cartilage and both of my knees sound like the bones are rubbing together. Not.Good. Last week I had my co-workers put their hands on it because you can actually feel the rubbing and cracking. Also, our Personal Trainer made us do step/kicks, and I was in a lot of pain and had to beg for mercy (or a lower step). I made him and Nikki feel them too.I’ve done a lot of research about the topic, because I know in my heart it is something I’m going to have to deal with in my life at some point. | ![]() |
I just found out about Dr. Allen Gustafson who a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon renowned for his experience, skill, and accomplishments in joint replacement and reconstruction. I definitely want to find someone who knows what they are doing and who has a complete recovery plan like he does when I have to go through it.

That is too bad. You probably need to let it rest awhile.

I think the more I work out (and the more weight I lose), the better it will get.
Posted by: Laurie on February 3rd, 2008 at 12:11 pmThat stinks. I have a friend in their mid-50’s who had it done and it took them out for a while. I hear the younger you are, the better you bounce back though. Hopefully you won’t have to have surgery to resolve the problem though.
