Holiday Update

Hi Everyone! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve updated. I find myself online less often now. I’m not exactly sure what I’m filling all my free time with, but I guess I watch a lot more TV now thanks to TiVO. It also doesn’t help that we sleep in the same room with my computer, so late night surfing is out of the question. That will soon be changing in the new year though, when we finally move in the “Paris Room” for good.
The house officially feels broken in after two big holiday gatherings. We celebrated/hosted both Thanksgiving and Christmas here. I can definitely further appreciate all the hard work that goes into doing something like this now. My mom helped me by cooking the turkey and sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving, and we copped out and ordered Honey Baked Ham for Christmas. I still did all the shopping, decorating, wrapping, cleaning (except for the shower) and rest of the cooking… so it wasn’t stress free by any means. I am looking forward to traveling or being a guest elsewhere next year. *wink*
In a few weeks I’ll be turning 30. I’m not too consumed with feeling old, and I certainly doubt it will be any different. I might feel differently once I hit 40, but I have 10 years to worry and get new grey hairs over that. I have heard that 30 is the new 21. I threw Dave a party, and quite a few of my friends have also had little gatherings. I’m thinking dinner and a maybe drinks afterward for my family and a few close friends. I am not feeling the whole big party vibe. I have much more fun planning things for other people, so I am looking forward to bridal and/or baby showers for my friends (you know who you are).
| I ordered a new cell phone today. I’m tired of my pink RAZR, so I’m moving back to LG. It’s an Ice Blue Chocolate. The salesman said it matches my eyes, and luckily it is my favorite color anyway. I prefer LG to Motorola, so I’m happy about the change– just not about the 2-year-contract Verizon makes you sign for getting a new phone. Too bad I am no longer employed or I’m sure it would’ve been free. I miss the $5/month airtime fees too. |  |
Work is going well. I had a full seven days off, yet I found myself looking forward to returning today. Crazy, isn’t it? We do not have big New Years plans. We’ve decided to return to Dave & Busters for their Casino Night, buffet, and balloon drop/champagne toast. Last year they had a Murder Mystery dinner. This will be a nice change of pace, and it’s only 10 minutes from our house which will be good too.
This weekend I am just going to relax and reflect on 2007. I have an appointment for a spa pedicure at Elizabeth Arden in the morning, and I’m going to have my hair done at Toni & Guy. Sunday my parents are coming over and I’m going to cook dinner for them.
I’ve gotten lots of requests for house pictures, so here are a few with holiday decorating. There are still a lot of walls with nothing on them– we are still deciding what we want to do.
