Dave’s 31st!

By Laurie | November 3, 2007

Dave’s birthday was Wednesday (Halloween). I know I’ve been bad about posting. We’re still trying to get things together at the house, and things have just taken priority over my Internet fun for the past few weeks.

I got him a new iPod Nano, Guitar Hero 3, and tickets to the Smashing Pumpkins concert that was supposed to be last night. We pulled up to the venue (over an hour away) only to find signs that it was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday the 18th. Our friend Krista’s 30th birthday party was also last night, but we had purchased the tickets back in early July before that date was set. Of course now we regret that we missed her dinner, but we were still able to meet up with everyone at the second venue for music and drinks.

Here’s Dave’s birthday cake that my very talented friend LeAnn made. She has started a cake business called “Sweet Spot” so if anyone is local to DFW, let me know and I’ll pass along her info. Her cakes not only look amazing, but they taste fantastic too. She made a carrot cake for my boss for Boss’s Day and it was out of this world.

Here he is blowing the candle out at our house after dinner. My parents and I took him out to dinner in Addison, and came home for cake. Right before he was about to blow it out, we got a ring of our doorbell. The lights were out and it was dark, but when we opened the door we saw “Evil Spider-Man” holding out his bag and shouting trick-or-treat. I had gotten a bunch of candy at work, so I went and got some for him. I am kind of glad we got to experience a little bit of Halloween on our first holiday in our new home!
