Weekend Ramble

By Laurie | September 23, 2007

Yesterday was a pretty busy day, and I felt like we got a lot accomplished. My wallet will no doubt feel a lot lighter in a few days, and I expect that will have a lot to do with the downpayment and furniture spending. I also was up into the wee hours of the morning looking at bedding and sheets online.

I found this fabulous set of Scalloped Embroidered Sheets at JCPenney online. They are having a huge white sale. They (also with the accent pillow) are still in my cart. (Picture them with LBD instead). While they are a HUGE savings (around $110), I just cannot bring myself to checkout. The sale ends today, so part of me wants to just go ahead with it. They are exactly what I have been looking for. Is 300 thread count good?

I did a lot more cleaning and bagging up of old clothes too. Today was the day I tackled my closet. By the time I was done, I have four huge black trash bags filled with stuff to donate along with two white kitchen bags of jeans and shoes. A lot of it was stuff I could still wear, but I decided to really get rid of more so that we won’t have to move it. It’s truly going to be a nightmare as it is.

I’m not going to miss our apartment even a tiny little bit. It’s never felt like home here. It will be so nice to pull up to our house and walk to the mailbox without any worries. At the apartment there are about four parking spots in front of the community mailboxes. Why is it that there are always golf carts and golf cart parts occupying over half of those spaces? They use them for the maintenance people to easily get around our Disney World like complex, but still… they even have their own special parking area and still feel the need to park in the spaces that are supposed to be for people who live here. Bah.

Not that I’m counting or anything…
