Manic Monday

I am going to start participating in the Manic Monday Meme. I was searching for a new one at The Daily Meme, and thought I’d try this one out. Each week you visit the site and there are a series of questions to answer. This helps your friends and readers will get to know you better. Here are this week’s questions:

  • What kinds of scenes in movies make you cry?
    I am an emotional person, so I cry pretty easily. A few examples of movies that I will cry during every single time are Schindler’s List and Shawshank Redemption. I cannot really break it down to a particular kind of scene, but generally movies that involve true stories or personal struggle touch me the most.
  • If you met your clone– someone with your exact personality traits, likes and dislikes, etc. — would you want to be friends with him/her? Why or why not?
    I would like to think so. Some of my very best friends have similar personality traits to me, and that is probably why we are such good friends. I think having common interests really bonds you to a person and is the basis for a good relationship. On the other hand, I have met people who seem to take on my personality as if they are my clone. When you are copying someone else, or being anything less than authentic to what you truly are… it is a big turn off. I have ended friendships for that very reason. After awhile, I got tired of seeing so much of what I thought was my originality (dress, speak, hobbies) in someone else. I tend to like to be around people who are secure with themselves and what they stand for, and not ones that are looking to copy my every move. My mom always said imitation is the truest form of flattery, but I have to disagree.
  • What is your biggest challenge in life right now?
    Right now I am just trying to get through the challenge of our first home purchase and big move. I am both excited and scared. The thought of being so much in debt is really freaking me out.
