28 Days…

By Laurie | August 27, 2007

We have exciting news today. All of our updated paperwork has been faxed in to our loan officier. Also we found out our closing date: September 25. That’s our 3rd wedding anniversary too!

Now the only thing that is left is locking in the interest rate. I am really hoping that they start get lower. Based on the news it sounds like something is about to happen with rates, so I am a little nervous about locking in now. On the other hand if it goes up I know I am going to be kicking myself. Anyone have any good advice on how to play the market?

Edit: Rate History.

  1. I have no advice on the interest rate thing. I’m so retarded when it comes to anything that requires numbers. It’s kind of scary that I want to be a nurse huh?? :)

I’m so excited for you guys though!! Things sure cruised along quickly with this whole process!! I can’t wait to see your new house when it’s all done and you’ve added your personal touch to it. :) Congratulations times 1000!!!

  2. Thanks, Jill! I agree that everything has happened super fast.
I have been wanting things to speed up, but when I remember how much work we have left to do I think I will be wishing I had been more productive with the months we had leading up to all this!

  3. I would talk to your lender. Sometimes, even if you’ve locked in, if the rate goes down they will give you the lower rate. Each lender is different though so definitely ask them what their policy is.

  4. Our lender says once we lock that’s it. I have heard all kind of different experiences from others though.
