Hairspray and Harry

Tonight is going to be a fun night. First we are going to see Hairspray with some friends. I love musicals, and for the most part I love musicals that are made into movies. This one looks super cute, and it is getting really good reviews so far. We like Amanda Bynes too. David is not too excited about John Travolta playing the mother. Eh.. I could take him or leave him. I know the boy from High School Musical is in this, but I have still never seen it. It is currently last on my Netflix queue. I need to bump it up so I don’t feel like the last personal (under 30?) that hasn’t seen it. Oh, and on Rotten Tomatoes it is 94% fresh. That’s pretty good. Dave is still not excited. |
He is however excited about Harry Potter. He left work on lunch to go to the bookstore to get a wristband so we can stand in line all night to buy the copy of the book we already reserved earlier this week. Oy. His wristband is letter “N” so as you can image we will be waiting awhile. I am going to have to find stuff to do this weekend while he is at home reading it, so if anyone is down for going out let me know. ![]()

Ok, I hate that all these posts aren’t on LJ.
Now I’m playing some serious catch up!! So what did you think of Hairspray? Did you see the original with Divine and Rikki Lake? My sister and I took our daughters to see it and I really enjoyed it. It was corny but so was the original. I thought John Travolta was hilarious! I miss you over at LJ. I have to remember how I got here in the first place.

I just had to because I knew some wise ass was going to ruin it for me if I didn’t finish it quickly! I loved the whole book except for the epiloge. I still haven’t seen the fifth movie yet though.
Hopefully this weekend because I’m running out of time!

I liked it a lot. I have never seen the original with Rikki– but she has a cameo in this one.
D finished the book in one day! I have only read the ending. I also read the synopsis on Wiki. haha
