La Vie de Laurie is born

La Vie de Laurie was started on LiveJournal in May of 2004. It started out as simply a platform for me to keep up with other friends and to post daily happenings in my life. In August of 2004 it became a Wedding Planner of sorts, as David and I became engaged and I started planning our wedding. It has been a wonderful source of entertainment, and has provided me sanity and given me a place to share my thoughts.
Originally called Laurie’s Journal: Crazy Blue-Eyed Bitch, I toned it down in August of 2006 when I began using my journal to make money through a paid blogging site. Since then, I have discovered that LiveJournal does not support paid blogging in their TOS, something I was completely unaware of until today. Edit: Apparently this was misinformation.
It is completely frightning to think that they could simply delete my journal– a place where I have kept my thoughts both privately and publicly all these years. I have had a paid account for several years, though I am not sure how that alters the meaning of the TOS. I have not done any investivating– I have simply created this journal as it’s replacement and will slowly start building it up.
I have made many friends on LiveJournal, so I am thankful for the time that I have been there. I plan to keep blogging there, however in a few months it will be private. I am going to start backing up my entries just in case something happens.

Hey! I don’t know if I missed an LJ entry about them not supporting the paid entries or what – But I happened on this site from the link on your house progress post over at LJ. So are you going to leave there eventually? I would really like to keep in contact with you if you do! I haven’t poked around yet – but what is this site that I’m posting the comment on? Can I add this to my LJ friends list so I can still be part of your posting? Oh my but I feel so lost!

I purchased my own domain here in February and use a blogging software called WordPress. You can always come over and post comments. I will still post there too, but there will probably be more personal stuff here, and in more detail. I have starting backing up my LJ entries starting with 2004 here, so that they are safe. They are just private, so only I can see them.
